Emma at the Beach

I have been taking photographs of people and places since the age of 6 when my parents bought me a Box Brownie camera. Born in London in 1969 to an Australian father and English mother, I consider myself to be a native of both countries, having spent many years on both sides of the world. I've lived back in England for 12 years now.

I enjoy using a variety of film cameras, and more recently a digital camera. Trained in traditional darkroom techniques, I now scan my negatives and transparencies and make prints using archival quality inks and paper.

I have a degree in Visual Communications from the Unviersity of Technology, Sydney, where I majored in photography.

I have won awards for my work, including a silver medal from the Royal Photographic Society's annual print exhibition.

My photographic inspirations come from people and places around me.
